Full Description ?️
Our journey starts at 10:00 AM at the Central Plaza (Parque Central), where we begin a stroll down the iconic Obispo Street. Keep your eyes peeled for practitioners in white, a sign of their spiritual rebirth. Our first major stop is the Casa de Africa Museum, where we immerse ourselves in the history of the Yoruba people who were brought to Cuba during the colonial era. You’ll learn about the syncretism that allowed these beliefs to merge with Catholicism, creating the unique faith known as Santería.
Next, a short drive takes us to the legendary Hamel Alley (Callejón de Hamel). This colorful narrow street is a living art gallery, filled with murals, sculptures, and the infectious pulse of Afro-Cuban rumba. Finally, we visit the private home of a Santera. This is a unique opportunity to see the altars and artifacts used in daily worship. The priestess will share insights into the rituals and the role of the Orishas in daily life. If you feel bold, you may even ask about your future! We conclude our spiritual walk back at the starting point by 2:00 PM.
