Day 1: Depart from Samaná via ferry to Sabana de la Mar (approx. 1 hour, ferry fee payable in cash). Upon arrival transfer by land to Hotel Caño Hondo, your base nestled in nature. Check-in, relax in the hotel’s natural spring pools and enjoy the surrounding tropical gardens. In the evening, savour a Dominican dinner and soak up the quiet ambience of the retreat.
Day 2: After breakfast, transfer to the boat dock for a guided tour of Los Haitises National Park. Navigate through mangrove channels, coastal lagoons, and visit the Cueva de la Línea to see ancient Taíno rock carvings. After the boat tour, return to Sabana de la Mar port and take the ferry back to Samaná (departures around 1PM, 3PM or 5PM, depending on availability). The tour ends when you arrive back in Samaná, filled with memories of a serene and wild Dominican adventure.
